Hydraulic pumps are used in hydraulic power transmission systems to help move fluid. A hydraulic pump is the device that converts mechanical energy into hydraulic energy, which is a combination of pressure and flow. A hydraulic pump can be any device that you can input force into to create pressure, which in turn creates flow. Electric motors are often used as the mechanical force to rotate the hydraulic pump input shaft.
There is a long list of electro-hydraulic pump applications, mostly industrial, in which electric motors are found, such as machinery, molding equipment, presses, material handling, lifts, conveyors, mixers, foundries, mills, and slitters.
