The superior design of Leeson’s parallel shaft PZ series gearmotors makes these DC SCR rated units an industry leader. Use as a direct replacement (same mounting dimensions) for Bodine model D and Z; Baldor; Boehm; Bison 100 gearmotors; and a handful of Dayton units.
These gearmotors are mountable at any position, but placing the motor underneath is not recommended in case the motor shaft seal fails and oil leaks into the motor. The gear unit contains semi-fluid grease to reduce leakage potential. More features include:
- Matched for continuous duty over 60:1 speed range
- Constant torque throughout the range when powered by unfiltered SCR-type adjustable speed control
- First stage steel helical gear followed by spur type gears
- Hardened steel shafts; output shafts with needle bearings for high load capability
