Square One has Leeson shaft grounding ring kits as an effective means of bearing protection for motors operated from inverter power.  One device is adequate to bleed down inverter sourced shaft voltages and protecting both the bearings. Grounding the shaft by installing a grounding device provides an alternate low-impedance path from the motor shaft to the motor case. This channels the current away from the bearings. It significantly reduces shaft voltage, and therefore bearing current, by not allowing voltage to build up on the rotor. This kit is for 143/145T NEMA frame motors. These kits include:
