This Leeson general purpose motor is Totally enclosed (TEFC) motors can be used more dirty or wet environments (to a point) – excessive water exposure may require a more sealed, washdown unit. This Leeson AC motor comes with a built-in overload, which helps protect the equipment from overheating. Thermal overloads are designed to open the start circuit and cut power to the motor in the case that the motor begins overheating from drawing too much current for too long a period of time.
